Bird paintings for babies

Several of my friends have just welcomed new babies so I've been busy working on paintings for their gifts!

I just love how cute they turned out!

Owl Be Seeing You!

I got a request for more owl pins in bright colors from Love & Glitter in Ellicott City, so I spent some time cutting and sewing 35 new hoot owls!

It was fun to come up with all of the color combinations. It had been a while since I made a batch of owls (partly because I tend to make 50-100 at a time) and I actually had forgotten some of the shortcuts to sewing the pieces together.

In honor of my 35 new hoot owls, here's a bad joke:

Q: What kind of books do owls like to read?
A:  Whooo-dunnits!

Shopping inspiration: Frederick, MD

A few weekends ago Brie and I spent the afternoon shopping in Frederick, browsing all the cute little boutiques...and getting caught in a downpour.  Even though we got soaked, we managed to pick up a few cool things.

Bird necklace and all earrings: Simply Beautiful Boutique.
Metal birds ringholder and Little Miss Austen Pride & Prejudice picture book: Retro Metro.
Vintage embroidered handkerchiefs: Tiara Day.
Leaf necklace: Alicia L. Boutique.
Bird greeting card (outside reads: I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't found you, my love. Inside reads: But I'm betting there'd be a lot less farting.): Simply Beautiful Boutique.

Also worth checking out in Frederick:
What a great way to spend a day! :)

Mini elephant watercolor

I haven't posted in a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been making anything! I just got sort of wrapped up in the everyday chaos. Never fear, more crafty photos coming soon :)

Here's a sweet little elephant painting I made recently. Perfect for a baby's room!

Here's a closer look:

Isn't he the cutest elephant ever?

New etsy listings: felt flower and leaf cuffs

Happy New Year to everyone!  The past few days have been...uh...somewhat productive. Haha, I spent a lot of time reading books and watching HGTV instead of doing anything useful. Sometimes you gotta relax and do nothing though, right?

Today I did manage to get the new cuffs up on etsy!

Felt Flower Cuff Bracelet in Purple and Lavender

Felt Flower Cuff in Red, Black, and White

Felt Leaf Cuff in shades of green

Happy holidays and new felt cuff bracelets

Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely holiday weekend!  Being sick and sitting around has been at least somewhat productive...I finished six more felt cuffs and have more in the works (as well as some more sets of felt leaf coasters).

Trying to come up with some new color combos for my next bunch...any thoughts?
